Story Title
It doesn't matter to me if you agree with the war or not...it also does not matter to me if you like our new president or not! What does matter though are our family members who have gone on to fight in any wars in whatever country! I am very proud of my son and at the same time scared half to death. When he was deciding whether or not to join the service I told him I would back him 100% either way. Several of his friends have also joined the service..some the Marines, some the Army, the list goes on...I don't think it really matters what branch they join! I am proud of them all! I usually have a picture of my son displayed somewhere so I can see him anytime I want. People have come up to me and asked if that was my son and when I tell them it is the response I get warms my heart. I am asked would I please tell him "thank you", people tell me they are proud of him! I do pass this on to him. My son told me that when he walks into a place and he's in uniform people come up to him and shake his hand, others hug him! He said it makes him feel good...reinforces his being proud!
Please remember our service men and women when you say your prayers and when you give thanks! Also remember the families of our service people! They have wives, husbands, children, etc that fight these wars right here from home. My son got married September 17, 2008 and left 2 days later for special training to prepare for his deployment. His wife will be waiting over a year to start her new life with her new husband. Don't be afraid to thank them! Don't worry that you might look dumb! Just walk up, shake his or her hand and say thank you! Thank a vet...thank a soldier! Thank you for letting me put out here what's in my heart!
